　全国労働組合連合会主催（全労連）のメーデーが代々木公園で開催した。会場ではスローガンを掲げ中央の壇上で決意表明、スローガンの確認・採択、メーデーの宣言提案・採択が行われ「団結頑張ろう」のデモ行進が3コースに分かれて行われた。宣伝カーは世相を反映した人形やオブジェで飾られた。

LGBTとは、Lesbian（レズビアン、女性同性愛者）、Gay（ゲイ、男性同性愛者）、Bisexual（バイセクシュアル、両性愛者）、Transgender（トランスジェンダー、性別越境者）の頭文字をとった単語で、セクシュアル・マイノリティ（性的少数者）の総称のひとつ。電通ダイバーシティ・ラボの2015年の調べ（全国69,989名にスクリーニング調査を実施）では、日本におけるLGBTの割合が人口の7.6％存在すると言われている。
　トランスジェンダーには出生時の身体の性別によってMtF（Male To Female）やTrans woman 、FtM（Female To Male）やTrans manという表現も用いられている。またLGBTだけではくくれない個々人のセクシュアリティ 1.「身体の性」、2.「心の性」、3.「好きになる性」を説明してきましたが、以下にあげられるように、多様な人々がいます。
Xジェンダー：「心の性」が男性、女性のどちらかに規定できない／しない人々のこと。
Aセクシュアル（無性愛者）：「好きになる性」をもたない人々のこと。
ノンセクシュアル（非性愛者）：恋愛感情を持っても性的欲求を抱かない人々のこと。
パンセクシュアル：「好きになる性」が性別にとらわれない人々のこと。
トランスヴェスタイト／クロスドレッサー：異性の服装を好んで着る人々のこと。
身体の性について
インターセックス（性分化疾患）身体の性の発達が先天的に非定型的である状態で、その大多数は男性・女性で、セクシュアル・マイノリティではありませんが、もちろん性分化疾患・インターセックスの状態を持つ人の中にも、セクシュアル・マイノリティの人がいます。

労働組合の中央組織・連合が主催するメーデー中央大会が２８日、「働く者のための働き方改革」などをスローガンに東京・代々木公園で開かれた。主催者発表で４万人が参加した。誰もが健やかで安心して働き続けられる社会の実現をめざすメーデー宣言を採択。連合の神津里季生（りきお）会長はあいさつで、今国会で審議が始まった働き方改革関連法案に触れ、「長時間労働の是正や同一労働同一賃金に魂を入れ込むのは労組だ」と、労組の存在意義（現在組織率２割）を強調した。
　今年は、一般の参加者のことを考慮して開催時間を短くしようと、慣例だった政党幹部の来賓あいさつをやめるなどプログラムを簡素化。会場のレイアウトもステージを会場中央に配置し、参加者がそれを取り囲むスタイルで開催した。あいさつをする人がその都度、会場の中心部に設営されたステージにのぼった。大会は例年より３０分ほど短い約５０分で終わった。

カンボジアフェスティバルが代々木公園で開催された。
カンボジア内戦終結から25年、日カンボジア友好65年、カンボジアの芸能・伝統的な舞踊、カンボジア料理などが展開された。また、カンボジア支援の各NPO団体のブースではその現状を訴えていた。
