コロナウイルスの感染が蔓延しているなかで迎えた、８月１５日。終戦から７５年目の暑い夏。
朝から照り付ける太陽、気温は３６度を超える。ソーシャルディスタンス、マスクが当たり前になっている今年の終戦記念日は参拝に訪れた人は例年より少なかった。
「平和への思い、いっそう強く。この日は特別、列絶えず」千鳥ヶ淵戦没者墓苑と靖国神社を訪れた。
千鳥ヶ淵戦没者墓苑では、それぞれの団体による慰霊式典が、時間を分けて行われていた。
マスクをしての、炎天下での参列には厳しさがあったが、老若男女の遺族の方々が、平和への思いを胸に、献花し祈りを捧げていた。
靖国神社では、例年の様子とは違い、密を避ける為、鳥居には「新型コロナウイルス、皆の力で打ち克ちましょう。」の横断幕。参道には密集・密接の注意を呼びかける立て看板とミストシャワー、足元には、ソーシャルディスタンスの目印テープが設置してあった。
そして、「８月１５日は、特別の日」間隔を開けた長い列が絶え間なく続いた。

Fewer
than usual people worshiped on the anniversary of the end of this year, when
social distance and masks are now commonplace.

Visited Chidorigafuchi National War Cemetery and Yasukuni Shrine.
At Chidorigafuchi National War Cemetery, a memorial service was
held by each group at different times.
Although
it was difficult to attend under the hot sun wearing a mask, the bereaved
families of men and women of all ages offered flowers and prayed with their
hearts for peace.
At the
Yasukuni Shrine, unlike the usual situation, the banner of "New
Coronavirus, Let's overcome with everyone's power." Standing signboards
that call attention to the approach and closeness, and a mist shower that
surpasses the heat.
At the
feet, there was a social distance marking tape.
And
a long line of "August 15th is a special day" was continuously displayed.
＜千鳥ヶ淵戦没者墓苑＞
千鳥ケ淵戦没者墓苑（ちどりがふちせんぼつしゃぼえん、英語: Chidorigafuchi National
Cemetery）は、日本の戦没者慰霊施設。日中戦争（支那事変）および太平洋戦争（大東亜戦争）の戦没者の遺骨のうち、遺族に引き渡すことができなかった遺骨を安置している。公園としての性格を有する墓地公園とされており、環境省が所管する国民公園等のひとつである。千鳥ヶ淵戦没者墓苑、国立千鳥ケ淵戦没者墓苑（こくりつちどりがふちせんぼつしゃぼえん）とも表記される。
