インディアナポリス200マイルレース 富士スピードウェー 1966年10月9日
日本で初めて開催された、アメリカの自動車レース「インディアナポリス500マイルレース」は、富士スピードウェーで行われた。
アメリカでは500マイルのレースだが、当時の富士のコースは、30度バンク・ヘヤピン・Ｓ字コースといった変化に富んでいたが、フォーミュラーカーに対応する為、バンク無しに、コースを変更し、しかも200マイルに短縮した特別なレースであった。
3000ccを超える排気量のフォーミュラーカーを見る為、私はその日、富士スピードウェーのヘヤピン・Ｓ字コースを転々と歩きながら観戦した。
爆音を轟かせたフォーミュラーカーの凄まじさに圧倒されながら撮った、初めてのドキュメト。あまりにもサーキットが広い為、アナウンスの声が聞こえなくて、全体の様子や誰がトップなのかも分からなかったが、夢中で流し撮りをした。

Indianapolis 200 miles race Fuji speedway October 9, 1966
American car race "Indianapolis 500-Mile Race" was held by Fuji speedway for the first time in Japan.
The distance of the race was 500 miles in U.S.A., but because the course of the Fuji speedway was full of changes such as the 30 degrees bank hairpin S character course, changed a course, and it was the special race that it shortened to 200 miles, besides.
I watched a game to watch the formula car of the displacement volume more than 3,000cc while walking a hairpin and the S character course of the Fuji speedway from place to place.
And I pushed the shutter like a man in a trance while the terrible explosion of the formula car sounded. This became the first documentary photograph for me.
