2020東京オリンピックは、一年延期され、2021年7月23日から開催された。
コロナウイルスによるパンデミック、緊急事態宣言下でのオリンピックは、どのような意義があったのか…。東日本大震災復興五輪の理念も吹っ飛び、コロナ禍で経済効果も期待できず。何の為、誰の為？ 疑問だけが残る。これまでの経過、世論、そして東京の気候からして、暑い夏に行い、一部の試合を夜遅くまで行うとは、どうみてもアスリート
ファーストではない。
しかも、オリンピックスタジアムを壁で囲い、6月8日から周辺道路を封鎖し、人も車も通れない、近づくことも出来ない。外苑のジョギングコース、1年半前から神宮外苑草野球場も無くなった。
絵画館前には大きなテントの通路が出来ている。ここは、選手・オリンピックファミリーの招待者・関係者の、入場する通路を確保していた。工事関係者・警備の人に聞くと「テロ対策」で、コロナとは関係なく、初めからの予定だそうだ。
やっと分かった。オリンピックファミリー関係者と莫大なTV放映権料をIOCに支払った、外国テレビ局の為のオリンピックだった。平和の祭典「オリンピック」を商業主義のイベントにしてしまう恐ろしさを感じる。
開催国を無視して決定しているIOC、日本の主権は？壁と道路封鎖で近づくことも出来ない私たち、まるで、占領下の都市の様だ。 IOCがGHQに見えてきた。

森会長（当時）の女性蔑視発言で辞任、後任案は密室人事で批判撤回。開閉会式演出チーム総括役の佐々木宏氏がタレント侮辱（オリンピッグ豚）の演出案で辞任。
開会4日前には、開会式の楽曲制作担当の小山田圭吾さんが、過去の障がい者虐め問題で辞任。さらに、組織委員会が開催する文化イベントに出演予定だった、絵本作家のぶみ氏も過去の教師虐め問題で、辞任。組織委員会はイベント運営を丸投げしているようだが、ついでに、人の身辺調査も丸投げで契約すべきだった。
五輪を巡る不祥事や辞任、大会組織委員会はどこまで醜態をさらすのか。おまけにコロナ感染者は増大傾向。ワクチン接種も政府の思うように進まず、SNS等ではワクチン接種の恐怖も流れている。
「おもてなし 裏があるから 表無し」笑いごとではない。東京の街中でオリンピックムードは無い。東日本大震災復興五輪の姿も見えない。そして、最も犠牲になっているのがアスリートたちかも知れない。 1964年10月10日開催の東京オリンピックが懐かしい。
平和の祭典オリンピック、1972年ミュンヘンオリンピックでイスラエル選手らが、パレスチナ・ゲリラ「黒い九月」に襲撃され11人が犠牲になった。死亡した選手の遺族が49年間、IOCに五輪開催式に追悼の時間を設けるように要望し、2021年7月23日の東京オリンピック開会式で五輪史上初めて、出席者による黙祷が捧げられた。
