富士山麓 富士宮市の若獅子神社を訪問。ここは昭和17年8月に開校した陸軍少年戦車兵学校跡地である。戦没同窓生の慰霊の為に建てられた「若獅子の塔」そして、脇にはサイパン島で30年もの間地中に埋没していた「九七式中戦車（チハ車）」が、ボロボロになりながらも安置されている。
戦後76年経った今も、富士山北麓の山梨県富士吉田市の自衛隊北富士演習場では、戦車の実弾訓練が続いている。富士山は今も昔も砲弾の炸裂する音を聞き続けている…。
陸軍少年戦車兵学校
日本陸軍はノモンハン事変後、近代戦の中核である戦車隊の拡充強化を図るため、昭和１４年１２月に千葉陸軍戦車学校に生徒隊を設け、少年戦車兵を教育した。その後、戦局の熾烈なるに伴い、昭和１７年８月この地、静岡県富士宮市上井出に陸軍少年戦車兵学校を移し、本格的な養成が行われ、約4000人の卒業生を出している。
神社の起源と由来
若獅子神社は、1965年12月、学校跡のこの地に戦没同窓生の慰霊・顕彰のため、若獅子の塔を建立したのを起源とし、以来毎年慰霊祭を行った。そして、陸軍少年戦車兵の教官・生徒六百有余の御霊を御祭神として永久祭祀の途を拓くため1984年10月神社を創建し、勇猛果敢な活躍を遂げた少年戦車兵の愛称であった「若獅子」を神社の称号とした。
Origin
of the shrine
The
Wakajishi Shrine originated in December 1965, when the Wakajishi Tower was
erected in this area of the ruins of a tank school to commemorate and honor the
alumni who died in the war.
In
October 1984, in order to open up a permanent ritual with the instructor of the
army boy tank soldier and the spirit of more than 600 students who bravely
fought in the name of the young lion in the previous Greater East Asia War as a
deity.
展示の戦車は、機甲部隊の主力戦車：九七式中戦車（チハ車）で、玉砕の島サイパンにて四十余命の少年戦車兵とともに、勇戦奮闘、戦後３０年間、土中深く埋まっていたものを、1975年4月一有志の悲願がかない、この地に還り、安置したのである。 無数の弾痕は戦争の激しさを訴え、満身の赤錆は、戦いの空しさを語り、若獅子の御霊とともに永く平和の道標として、平和の尊さを教えている。
この戦車は戦車第九連隊所属で、同時期に帰還したもう一両は現在、靖国神社：遊就館に修復・整備・塗装され展示されています。
The tank on display was the main battle tank of the armored unit: Type
97 Medium Tank (Chiha), which was buried deep in the ground for 30 years
after the war, with a boy tank soldier in Saipan.
The
tank returned to the area in April 1975 and was enshrined there. Countless
bullet holes appeal to the fierceness of the war, full red rust talks about the
emptiness of the battle, and together with the spirit of the young lion,
teaches the preciousness of peace as a signpost of peace for a long time.
This
tank belongs to the 9th Regiment, and the other one that returned at the same
time is currently being restored, maintained, painted and exhibited at Yasukuni
Shrine: Yushukan.
