新型コロナウイルス＝東京アラート
2020年4月7日（火）に発出された新型コロナウイルスによる緊急事態宣言は、全国的に5月25日（月）に解除され、東京都は休業要請などを5月26日から段階的に緩和、6月1日には劇場や映画館、学習塾など幅広い業種への要請を解除した。
しかし、東京都は2020年6月2日、新型コロナウイルスの感染者34人を新たに確認したと発表した。新規感染者が増加傾向にあることから、都は感染再拡大の兆候があるとして独自の警戒情報「東京アラート」を初めて発動した。
2020年6月2日（火曜日）23時に、『東京アラート』が発動され、都庁舎及びレインボウブリッチは赤くライトアップで照らされた…。
「東京アラート」は、都内の感染状況を都民の皆様に的確にお知らせし、警戒を呼び掛けるものである。
そして、6月11日（木）1週間の平均でいずれも1日当たり、①新たな感染の確認が20人未満、②感染経路が分からない人の割合が50％未満、さらに③感染した人の増加比率が前の週より低くなるという3つの指標を満たすかどうかを確認し、いずれも①17.9人②48.0％③0.98とクリアした。
これにより、6月12日（金）0時に東京アラートは解除された。これに先立ち11日23時に都庁舎及びレインボーブリッジの赤色ライトは虹色にライトアップした。
また、午後7時から8時までは、青色にライトアップされ医療従事者への感謝を表している。※

※しかし、東京アラートが解除された後、コロナウイルスの感染者は増え続けている。
8月1日には東京都の1日の感染者数が472人と最高を記録し、400人越えが4日、さらに高止まり傾向が続く。
2020年8月16日、東京都の感染者はこの日２６０人、現在感染者数３６１５人（累計１７７１４人）死者数３４０人。全国の感染者数は14187人（累計56211人）死者数１１０３人。世界では、感染者累計21,026,758人死者数755,786人となっている。
