酉の市（とりのいち）は、例年11月の酉の日に行われる祭。酉の祭（とりのまち）、大酉祭（おおとりまつり）、お酉様（おとりさま）ともいう。鷲神社、酉の寺、大鳥神社など鷲や鳥にちなむ寺社の年中行事として知られ、関東地方を中心とする祭りである。多くの露店で、威勢よく手締めして「縁起熊手」を売る祭の賑わいは、年末の風物詩である。

熊手守りと縁起熊手
「酉の市」の立つ日には、おかめや招福の縁起物を飾った「縁起熊手」を売る露店が立ち並ぶ。また、市を開催する寺社からは小さな竹熊手に稲穂や札をつけた「熊手守り」が授与され、福を「掃き込む、かきこむ」との洒落にことよせ「かっこめ」と呼ばれている。

一の酉（11月12日）
花園神社（東京都新宿区）は、恒例の大変な賑わいで、あちこちから威勢のいい手締めが聞こえ、熊手を売る露店も40店以上あった。國魂神社の末社・大鷲（おおとり）神社（東京都府中市）は、熊手を売る露店の数は少ないが、参道を多数の飲食屋台、来年の午年に因んだ、馬のオブジェ、ストリートパフォーマンス等、こちらもかなりの賑わいを見せていた。

Tori no Ichi (Tori Market) is a festival held annually on the Day of the Rooster in November. It is also known as Tori no Machi (Tori Festival), Otori Matsuri (Otori Festival), or Otorisama (Otori-sama).
Known as an annual event at temples and shrines associated with eagles and birds, such as Otori Shrine, Tori no Tera, and Otori Shrine, this festival is centered in the Kanto region. The lively atmosphere of the festival, with many stalls selling "lucky rakes" (good luck rakes) and enthusiastic hand clapping, is a seasonal tradition at the end of the year.

Rake Charms and Good Luck Rakes
On the day of Tori no Ichi, stalls line the streets selling "good luck rakes," decorated with Okame (female face) and other auspicious items. The temples and shrines hosting the market also offer "rake charms," small bamboo rakes with rice stalks or tags attached. These charms are called "kakkome," a play on the meaning of "sweeping in" or "raking in" good fortune.

Ichi no tori (November 12th)
Hanazono Shrine (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) was bustling as usual, with over 40 stalls selling rakes. Otori Shrine (Fuchu City, Tokyo), a branch shrine of Okunitama Shrine, had fewer stalls selling rakes, but it was also quite lively, with numerous food and drink stalls lining the approach, horse-shaped sculptures in honor of the coming Year of the Horse, and street performances.
