＜気仙沼市大谷海岸駅跡＝10mの防潮堤＞

＜道の駅大谷海岸＞<Roadside Station Oya Coast>
パンフレットに「目も前に大谷の海が広がる気仙沼の南の玄関口」現在の大谷海岸は防潮堤はあるが、海岸は見える。道の駅も大きな店舗になった。そして、JRバスの駅も新調された。
JR旧大谷海岸駅も線路も無くなったが、国道から海が見えるのは素晴らしい。
The pamphlet says, ``The southern gateway to Kesennuma, where the sea of Oya spreads out in front of you.'' The current Oya coast has a seawall, but you can see the coast. The roadside station became a big store. And the JR bus station was also renewed.
The old JR Oya Kaigan Station and the railroad tracks are gone, but it's wonderful to be able to see the sea from the national highway.
＜気仙沼市鹿折唐桑＝第18共徳丸の姿は無い＞
津波によって、気仙沼市鹿折唐桑駅近くの国道45号線そばに打ち上げられた第18共徳丸は解体され整地され、国道も整備され、新たに集合住宅も建設中だった。コンビニも新しく建設され開店準備中であった。復興工事は確実に進む、何事もなかったように…。（2016年5月記）
このあたりは完全復興、新しい住宅店舗、高層住宅、国道も整備されJR鹿折唐桑駅（バス）も再建できた。
<Shikaori Karakuwa, Kesennuma City = No 18 Kyotoku Maru is visible>
The 18th Kyotoku Maru, which was washed ashore near National Route 45 near Shikaori Karakuwa Station in Kesennuma City, was dismantled and leveled, the national road was improved, and a new housing complex was under construction. The area has been completely restored, with new residential shops, high-rise housing, national highways, and JR Shikaori Karakuwa Station (bus) rebuilt.
震災遺構「気仙沼向洋高校旧校舎・伝承館」
「私は東日本大震災時、気仙沼向洋高等学校を17年間勤務し、退職後非常勤講師をしておりました。午前授業を終え帰宅して間もない時間に、あの驚愕するような大津波襲来を体験しました。当時、向洋高校には生徒・教師・工事関係者約250名位がおりました。校舎は海から約150ｍ、海抜は0～1ｍ位の立地条件下で13mを超す大津波に襲われながら、臨機応変な迅速避難で誰一人犠牲にならなかったことは、正に奇跡であろうと思われます。」（伝承館館長：芳賀一郎氏）
被災した旧向洋高校が伝承館になっている。

＜気仙沼漁港＞<Kesennuma Fishing Port>
私が気仙沼市を初めて訪れたのは、学生時代日本一周を目指して360㏄のスバルサンバーを2万円で購入、車内で寝れるように改造して、三陸海岸沿いを旅している頃である。
2回目の訪問は、当時TVドラマ「冬物語」（原田芳雄・浅丘ルリ子・大原麗子）で、気仙沼漁港が出てきて、冬の漁港風景が見たくて雪の降りしきる気仙沼漁港へ、都はるみの演歌が流れる港、ゆっくりと岸壁を離れる漁船、見送る家族の手にはテープの束が、そして、真横に向きを変え、演歌から、軍艦マーチに変わり、エンジン音も高らかに遠洋漁業の大型漁船が出港した風景は、今も脳裏に残っている。
私は震災後、4回に渡り訪れている、思い出の地「気仙沼漁港」は、今は完全復興の漁港になった。

"Kesennuma Fishing Port", a place of memories that I have visited four times since the earthquake, is now a completely restored fishing port.

＜気仙沼復興祈念公園＞
東日本大震災の記憶を後世に伝え、復興を祈念する場所「気仙沼市復興祈念公園」が、２０２１年３月１１日（木）に開園した。
市街地からも近い安波山のふもとの「陣山」にあり、津波火災等で壊滅的な被害を受けた鹿折地区・内湾地区・漁港を眼下に望み、地域の復興の様子を実感することができる。
公園内には、市民のみならず、これまで支えていただいた世界中の方々の想いを結集して創り上げた復興祈念のシンボルとなる「祈りの帆（セイル）」、犠牲となった方々の名前を刻む銘板が配置されており、清々しい気持ちと追悼の気持ちを寄せることができる。
<Kesennuma Reconstruction Memorial Park>
The Kesennuma City Reconstruction Memorial Park, a place to convey the memory of the Great East Japan Earthquake to future generations and pray for reconstruction, will open on March 11, 2021 (Thursday).
Located on "Jinyama" at the foot of Mt. Aba, which is close to
the city, you can see the Shishiore district, the inner bay district, and
the fishing port that were devastated by the tsunami and other fires, and
you can feel the state of reconstruction.In the park, not only citizens,
but also people around the world who have supported us so far have gathered
the thoughts of people around the world to create a “prayer sail” that
is a symbol of prayers for recovery, and a memorial service for the victims.
There is a nameplate engraved with the name, and you can send a refreshing
feeling and a feeling of remembrance.
