東京都中野区にある成願寺には、太平洋戦争の最中、1944年に造られた防空壕がある。
　ここは私が15年ほど前に住んでいた家の近くの寺で、新宿副都心の山手通り沿い、中野坂上近くにあり、今でも当時の様子が覗える。
　お寺の受付で、防空壕の見学を申し出ると、快く入口まで案内され、説明を受けた後、自由に見学出来た。　防空壕の長さは約30m、真ん中に6畳ほどの小部屋がある。昔はもっと部屋があり本堂や風呂、トイレも備えていたそうある。

　1944年に造られ、ご本尊や過去帳など寺の大切なものだけでなく、近隣の住民たちの避難所としての役割を果たし、今でもイザと言う時の為に、水と食料が用意されている。

An air raid shelter was built at Joganji Temple in Nakano-ku, Tokyo in 1944 during the Pacific War.

This is a temple near the house where I lived about 15 years ago, along Yamate-dori in the city center, near Nakano-Sakaue, and I can still see what it was like at that time.

　When I offered to visit the air raid shelter at the reception desk of the temple, I was happy to be guided to the entrance, and after receiving the explanation, I was able to visit freely.

The length of the air raid shelter is about 30m, and there is a small room of about 6 tatami mats in the middle. At the time of construction, there were more rooms, including a main hall, a bath, and a toilet.

Built in 1944, it serves not only as an important temple temple such as the principal image and past book, but also as a shelter for the local residents, and even now, in an emergency, water and food are available.

＜中野長者の寺「多宝山　成願寺」＞

今から約650年前、中野長者鈴木九郎が、小田原大雄山最乗寺五世舂屋宗能禅師様の教えをもとに出家し開創した、観音様ゆかりの寺です。多宝山成願寺の本山は、道元禅師さまがひらかれた福井県永平寺と、瑩山禅師さまがひらかれた横浜市總持寺です。（ホームページより）

　　　　20年ぐらい前に土砂が崩れ始めたので、補強工事された。所々に当時の様子を覗える。
